Born in Guadalajara, Jalisco -a state in México known for its eclectic array of artists and craftsmen-, one could say she was destined to become the recognized designer she is today.

The work of Elena Damy is constantly growing in demand; inside and outside of the world of floral design. While living in Paris, she discovered a passion for flowers as well as a true talent for sculptural floral design. This was the beginning of her journey to becoming one of premier floral designers both in México and far beyond its borders. Determined to be the best, Elena has studied design in Paris, London, Frankfurt, New York and Los Angeles under watchful eyes of some of the world's best designers.

“What color should my wedding flowers be”?

Our clients frequently ask us if we think their wedding flowers should be white. Our answer? “Choose the colors you like the most, and we’ll help you to create wonderful and unique designs for such an important event in your life”. If you have always dreamt with a colorful wedding, then a colorful wedding will be right for you; if you love how monochromatic weddings look like, then you should use the one color you love the most. So, don’t even think about current trends when it comes to choosing the color of your wedding flowers, just remember it’s YOUR wedding, so you get to create your own “trends”.

This was Dimeka’s wedding at Las Ventanas al Paraiso. We mainly used Cymbidium Orchids, Tulips, and Roses in yellow, and only a few accents in white for the ceremony.

QUESTION FOR OUR READERS: Do you think there are flowers of certain colors that should not be used for weddings?
